Recorded in 1977 is probably
one of
the best selling Roberto Roena Y Su Apollo Sound records ever! The
voices
of Papo Sanchez
along with Tito Cruz, and
Mario Cora
complimented by theCoro vocals of Ruben Blades, and Adalberto
Santiago made
"Marejada Feliz", and "La
Distancia"
a couple of the major hits in the late '70's. This recording may have
been
overshadowed by the Hits, however checkout "Que Me Lo Den En Vida", the
Jazzy "Ya Ves No Te Quiero","Nadie Sabe",
and "Hay Que Saber Comenzar".
Roberto Roena's stable at that time also
included Lenny Prieto on Piano, Cuqui Santos on Timbales, Papo Clemente
on Congas, Pucho Souffront on Bass, Gunda Merced on Trombone, Mario
Cora
and Dario Morales on Trumpets, along with the great Miguel Rodriguez on
Flute/Sax. This is great
Salsa, and a CD that's worth
listening
to over and over again. ....
