Miguel M. Cancio-Rodríguez

     Born in Puerto Rico. Graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 1948, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. From 1949 to 1961 he worked as a self employed pharmacist in Aguadilla, P.R. Afterward, he studied and graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law, obtaining the degree of Juris Doctor (Magna Cum Laude 3.72) in 1964. Awards: received from the Puerto Rico Bar Association in September 1964; most distinguished student from the University of Puerto Rico in the field of Civil Law; and most distinguished student who obtained the highest grade point average in the graduating class of 1964 from the University of Puerto Rico. Member, Law Review. Admitted to the practice of law by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico in 1964 and to the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico in 1965. Upon being admitted to the bar, he established the Law Offices of Miguel M. Cancio and later established and became a partner in the law firm of Cancio & Cancio. He was appointed as an Honorary Magistrate and was also a member of the Puerto Rico Board of Examiners for the Legal Profession for several years, appointed by the Puerto Rico Supreme Court. In 1995 he established and joined the law firm of Miguel M. Cancio & José R. Cancio. At present, he has his own practice with more than forty-five (45) years of experience. Member Puerto Rico Bar Association.

José R. Cancio-González

     Born in Puerto Rico. Graduated from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico in 1978, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Arts and Humanities. Member of the International Honor Society in Social Sciences in 1977. In 1981, he graduated from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, School of Law, obtaining the degree of Juris Doctor (Cum Laude 3.49), where he ranked fifth in his graduating class of 129 students. Member, Law Review. Included in the 1979 to 1980 National Dean's List as an outstanding student. Admitted to the practice of law by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico in 1981 and to the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico in 1982. After being admitted to the bar, he began working for the law firm of Cancio & Cancio in Aguadilla, P.R. in 1982. Later on, from 1983 to 1985, he worked for the Legal Aid Society of Puerto Rico, handling criminal law cases. From 1985 to 1995 he worked for the Puerto Rico Department of Justice as an Assistant District Attorney. He resigned as a prosecuting attorney to establish and join the law firm of Miguel M. Cancio & José R. Cancio. At present, he has his own practice with more than thirty (30) years of experience. Member Puerto Rico Bar Association.
