Role-playing, one of my favorite vices. Picked up the habit a few years ago, and have since played: various mech pilots, space marines, eldars and orcs in tabletop games, a Toon robot, Judge Lawless in a Judge Dredd game, a Starfleet engineer in the old Star Trek system, a Nosferatu named Wintermute in a Vampire game that never quite got off the ground, a Glass Walker named Kill Factor in  Werewolf, a messenger angel (can't remember the fancy name right now) named Mark Curie in an In Nomine game, 'Cobalt' a super of my own design in GURPS, and lately another Starfleet engineer in the new Star Trek system.

(Copyrights and trademarks of the above game systems belong to their owners and are mentioned here by name because it's bloody hard to talk about them without actually mentioning them by  name. No endorsement is made here of the quality of any of these games, just that of the game master and my fellow players who can get a good game out off even a bad system.)

I really like playing against type; naive Judges, angst-free vampires, pacifist werewolves, cautious super-heroes, and
gung-ho engineers.

And here are some stories based on some of my characters.

"Raison D'Etre"
[Judge Lawless : MegaCity1 meets Hill Street Blues. A
grizzled group of veteran Judges on their beat up old
lawmasters have to deal with a just graduated Judge, who
doesn't just uphold the Law he BELIEVES in it. Here's why.]

(More stories real soon now)
(No, really.)
