1979 - present

Physical planning and Engineering consultant associate with the firm P.R. management and Economic Consultants, Inc.  Participates in physical planning, environmental planning, public administration and economic studies.

 

 

1978-79

Post retirement from the Government of Puerto Rico after 30 years of service,  joined the firm Juan B. Gaztambide and Associates. Performed engineering and planning consulting work as an associate of the firm.  Also participated in the appraisal of industrial, commercial and residential properties.

 

 

1965-78

Director, Physical Planning Office, Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company (PRODCO), an agency of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in charge of development of the physical facilities required for the industrial development of P.R. Supervised physical facility programs, inter-agency project coordination, environmental evaluation of all PRIDCO related projects site recommendations for industrial projects, PRIDCO federal aid request, etc.  Supervised two departments: Projects Planning and Master Planning, including 25 planning engineers, planning technicians, draftsmen and secretaries.

 

 

1960-65

Director, Master Planning Dept., PRIDCO.  Supervised the preparation of industrial and tourism long-range studies and programs, including the 4 years.  PRIDCO yearly economic program and the master plan of industrial facilities required for the economic development of the island of Puerto Rico.

 

 

1959-60

On leave with pay from PRIDCO at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to complete advanced studies in city and regional planning with particular emphasis on industrial development planning.   Completed MCP in three semesters.

 

 

1953-59

Planning Engineer to Senior Planning Engineer, PRIDCO.  Project site recommendations, preliminary design and construction estimates, real estate evaluation, inter-agency coordination, report writing, field trips with industrialists, represent PRIDCO at public hearings and other meetings, etc.

 

 

1951-53

Pfc. U.S. Corps of Engineers, during the Korean War.  Honorably discharge.  Army No. US50104897 stationed during the war as Professional Special Personnel at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, with duties as instructor's aide and general office work.

 

 

1949-51

Highway survey and design engineer, Puerto Rico Department of Public Works.  Worked in rural and urban highway projects.
