Recipient of an inheritance
of bomba music, tradition and dance four generations old. While
building the bomba drums, he earned from his father, the intricate
rhythms, the nuances and metrics of the cultural legacy.
Now head of the renowned
CEPEDA family folkloric group, Jesús, teaches and directs the company
that bears their name. The show is a world-class spectacle of dance
and rhythm unmatched on intensity and cultural bravado. |

Classic style “plena” group will get
everybody on their feet with their hand-clapping infectous
rhythm. Four “panderos” (hand-held drums) with a
trombone to carry the melody and the counterpoint of choir and lead
voice,

to join in on the fun
and follow the conga
line.

This is a one of a kind folkloric group; they
have rescued a string instrument, the “TIPLE”, that had its
popularity in the 19th century.
Under the guidance of Don Julio Negrón, this musical group has

This marvelous band has a
very unique sound. Born out of traditional “street parade” music,
practiced in New Orleans, they bring the true sound of music as how it
is played on carnivals, plazas and gatherings thruout Europe; of

Choreographer, dancer, mime, singer, musician,
lecturer; mostly recognized for his tenure with famous musical group
“Haciendo Punto”, Jorge has cultivated his afro-caribbean roots with
studies and performances that add up to an impressive resumée.
Countless awards and recognitions don’t hold him back, he creates,
leads, and is at the fore front of the caribbean culture movement.
Boston has been his second
home as Faculty of the Boston Conservatory and member of The
Boston Foundation Committee for the Arts. |
