Diaspora, The Post-Biblical History of the Jews
by Werner Keller
Translated from the German by Richard and Clara Winston
1969, Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, New York
ISBN: 0-15-626033-6

Werner Keller has written a lucid and facinating account of the Jewish Diaspora, a period extending from the Roman occupation of Judea to the founding of the State of Israel. Dr. Keller also explores some places and events that are rarely mentioned in mainstream history books, such as the Kingdom of the Khazars, pre-Crusade Europe (these dark ages were not anywhere nearly as dark as the dark ages that came after the First Crusade), and the other royal decree to be enacted in Spain in 1492.
